Why am I getting a High Temperature Alarm on my batteries in my Telect enclosure?

« Go Back

Information

Answer

If the Telect enclosure is reporting a high temperature alarm, you should verify the temperature in the enclosure and verify the Battery Temperature High Threshold Parameter on an Eaton DC power system is set correctly.

If the temperature parameter setting is too low, it will result in false alarms. When set below the equipment and battery manufacturers' acceptable operating range, a high temperature alarm would be triggered before the allowable temperature range is exceeded within the cabinet.

A high temperature alarm can also be caused by a defective temperature sensor. This short procedure defined in the below document can be used both to verify the current settings for the parameter, or to change it to its appropriate value.
